Jonathan is a born teacher. He has had many private students in organ and piano over
the years, has coached organists for their Guild exams, and most memorably, taught at
the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University for three years. To this teaching work
he has added recent work at New York University.

A mother in Park Ridge, Illinois, who took piano from Jonathan (after her son and
daughter had had their lessons), said that the difference between studying piano with
Jonathan and with anyone else was the difference
"between a French teacher who
teaches the kids to count to ten during commercials, and a teacher who takes
you to Paris."
Hear what an IU student had to say:

Jonathan is extremely enthusiastic and
well prepared.  The environment was
light-hearted and he never fails to make
us laugh. Still, he is an excellent musician
and teacher and he seems to really care
about his students understanding and
enjoying themselves. I think Jonathan is
one of my favorite teachers I have ever
had, because he has such a unique ability
to give his students knowledge as well as
enjoyment. Keep up the incredible work!!

Jonathan—amazing, wonderful, truly a
breath of fresh air.  I liked it all, really.
Your attitude is impeccable. BRAVO!!
A former private organ student in
Chicago recently wrote:

I have enjoyed keeping up a bit with your
career via AGO mag. etc. You are nothing
short of amazing! Thanks for being such
a great role model!  I hope one of these
days we will get to meet again.
