Hall to Lead Music Program at Grace Church, Rutherford
RUTHERFORD, NJ, September 8:  This weekend will mark Jonathan Hall's first Sunday services at historic Grace Episcopal Church, Rutherford, New Jersey.  He will direct the choir of this active church, and play its Austin organ in services and concerts.

Hall served with distinction at the Church of the Epiphany, a parish on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and parish home of City Speaker Gifford Miller, from 2000 to 2004.  While there, he revitalized a moribund choir and musical program, oversaw extensive and long-deferred repairs to the historic Aeolian-Skinner organ, rebuilt the magnificent Mason and Hamlin piano, re-grounded the parish in authentic liturgical practice, and invited choirs and recitalists from around the globe to perform in the historic space--now slated for demolition and 'development.'

He looks forward to working in the Diocese of Newark, and to bringing his positive energy and a warm spirit to Grace Church.  Mass is at 10 o'clock, and new choir members are most definitely welcome!

Hall continues to serve at nearby Temple Beth Or in the Township of Washington, and as Editor of Transcontinental Music at the Union for Reform Judaism in midtown Manhattan. He is Sub-Dean of the Brooklyn Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and has finished his first book.  At Grace Church, he succeeds the well-lovedTodd Sisley, who has relocated to his native Capital Region of New York State.
