Organ and Saxophone...a magical combination!
The classical duo Powers and Hall was founded in 2001 at Indiana University's
Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington. Our basic musical medium is alto and
soprano saxophone, interacting with pipe organ. We have also worked with piano,
harpsichord, even digital keyboard.
We're interested in music composed for organ and saxophone as well as
transcriptions and arrangements. We have also begun to extend commissions to
interested composers.
Bill Powers, a graduate of Indiana University's School of Music and a student of
distinguished professor Eugene Rousseau, has achieved respect for elegant tone
and virtuoso technique. Jonathan Hall, who earned the Doctor of Music at Indiana,
enjoys growing visibility as an organist and an engaging commentator.
Powers and Hall are available for recital programs, workshops, worship services
or other events. We welcome your inquiries.
