Three classical dancers grace a wall behind the Parkchester's own movie theater, The American. Larger than life, they, like all the other terracotta artworks in the community, are in immaculate condition.

A spectacular WPA-style image of two men working. While there are numerous domestic scenes in the Parkchester depicting two women, or a single woman with a child, this is one of only two men I've found, and the men are carefully focused on the work at hand! Still, they form a graceful mandala. Speaking of religious imagery, the best is just ahead...
There are a surprising number of domestic scenes without men in them--leading me to wonder if this was designed, in part, as a safe place for divorced women...there are also several domestic scenes with two adult women; perhaps, officially, just an acknowledgement of female friendship and companionship. Still, what a remarkable social history this makes!
