On Sunday, November 20, Dr. Marilyn Keiser, FAGO, ChM, gave a stunning organ recital on the historic E.M. Skinner organ at the Church of Saint Ann and the Holy Trinity, Brooklyn Heights.

Though Dr. Keiser has suffered difficulty in recent years with a muscle injury that might have ended her career, her playing in Brooklyn was as pristine and clear as ever.  Never a note missed; never a phrase treated casually; never a question of tempo or architecture.  Her playing shows an ease that (any organist knows) is anything but easy.  It is said:
Summa ars celare artem.  The height of art is the concealment of art.  If that old saying is true (and it is), then Dr. Keiser has long since reached the summit.

It is hard to imagine a fitter tribute to such an historic church and organ.  Congratulations to Gregory Eaton for extending such a felicitious invitation.  And may Marilyn Keiser continue to enjoy the view from the top for years to come.
