St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Berkeley, September 9, 2007
Jonathan Hall played the opening recital of the twenty-second annual Second Sunday Recital Series at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, a landmark institution in Berkeley, California.  The recital, on Sunday, September 9, was all-Bach, consisting of works from the monumental Clavierubung III.

The organ, a 1971 Flentrop with additions by Flentrop in 2002, performed flawlessly. The organ, a classically-designed instrument of mechanical action, fills the large Mission-style room perfectly with elegant sound.

The reception following the program lived up to California's reputation for excellent food and wine.

Warm appreciation to St. Mark's, its clergy, its supportive membership, and of course its music director, George Emblom.
